This photo of Shawn was taken on December 1, 2018, less than three months following the accident. His handwriting continues to improve and although he would typically sign notes with a heartfelt, always-capitalized “MAHALOZ”, he recently penned the “THANK YOU!!!” which is shown. Years ago, one of our dear friends lovingly teased him about a group text we had going and said, “Eh! You no need yell at me on text!”, jokingly referring to his frequent use of capital letters and exclamation points. Ha!

It is such a blessing to watch with amazement as he starts to do things again. We continue to praise the Lord for His miraculous power at work in Shawn’s life!

THANK YOU to all of you who gave so freely to Shawn and our family. Your prayers, generous gifts, love, and support are greatly appreciated. We cannot imagine traveling this road without such amazing friends and family like you. As Shawn would say, “MAHALOZ”, from the bottom of our hearts.

Blessed beyond measure! God has placed so many loving people in our lives. If you know Shawn, you know he had a little bit of that local “shogun” vibe which would oftentimes hinder him from asking for help, occasionally leaving us vulnerable and fending for ourselves.

Many times our prideful nature keeps us from humbling ourselves and surrendering to assistance that is so readily available. This past week, as Shawn was placed in the care of phenomenal medical professionals, I learned to completely let go and allow our Heavenly Father to care for me, our girls, and our family. Rather than shy away from offers of help, I leaned in more and more and rested on the safety net our Lord had laid. Through the years I’ve learned that He doesn’t want us to go through life alone and provides support systems for us all along the way...we just need to take hold of them. I believe this is part of that support system. Thank you for your heartfelt consideration and your continued prayers. Many thanks to our amazing circle of friends who were inspired to start this for Shawn. We love you.

MAHALO to all of you who gave so generously to Shawn’s Go Fund Me account. Words can barely express our appreciation and gratitude. Thank you.
